I was told by a receptionist when having a problem getting a certain medication which I have been taking for years To try all round Thanet I said I dont drive her reply if they are that important to you that is what you should do. I was very grateful to courts chemist and Frances in courts who did all she could to help .In the end what Courts gave as an alternative was what was aventually prescribed.

My Father is 86 and disabled and my mother is 80 and is his immediate career. I do not live local to my parents and I needed some help. I totally understand that you were unable to offer the assistance I was asking for but my goodness does your receptionist have no compassion. Just a ‘I’m sorry we can’t help but hope your mum feels better soon’ would have been nice. She is very abrupt and although was able to answer my question I feel could not have given a damn about my predicament. My parents are very old school and struggle on without wanting to be an inconvenience to anyone. I totally get it that you have to put up lots of rude people but it’s your job to help people get the need. Looking at the other comments on google this attitude is more common than not. Sorry for paying into the NHS and wanting to use the service. Helping people is obviously not high in your agenda.

Appointment with Senior Nurse Practitioner, Audrey (20 Dec at 9.30am). This was subsequent to a visit to Estuary View about a suspected DVT but was diagnosed as possible infection and to follow up with GP (hence this appointment I refer to below). I checked in online at 0920 and the screen showed that was Audrey was on time. I waited 45 minutes and when I checked at reception, I was told Audrey had called in sick 10 mins before my appointment. One of the receptionists said she came out and made an announcement. I did not see that and I’m not hard of hearing. Also, they said to bear with them as they were trying to rejig appointments but I had to leave as I had another appointment. Today (2 Jan) I called to make an appointment as my leg had swollen even more overnight. I was looking forward to using the new easy access system. The receptionist said the appointment system was in lockdown and the practice manager was on leave and was the only one that could unlock the system so I’d have to call in tomorrow. The irony! So once again I’ve had to rely on Estuary View to be seen promptly or, at all! Minnis Bay MP is, in my opinion, not fit for the purpose and needs to be overhauled urgently.

Rang for an appointment this morning, specifically asked for an appointment with someone who could prescribe as I have COPD and should have emergency antibiotics that I can take to help prevent pneumonia and other infections. Got an appointment but the person I was booked in with could not prescribe. Nor did they help me resolve this situation, I was just told that I needed to make another appointment with a Dr. This is typical of my experience at Birchington, if it wasn't the only surgery in Birchington, I'd leave and register elsewhere.

Receptionist very rude, like getting blood out of a stone for an appointment. Receptionist needs training on compassion and respect for the sick and elderly. I would not recommend this practice.
